What up beauty crew?
Heading into the final countdown for the holiday season, this one is destined to be the best yet. Personally, I’ll be spending Christmas with the Kentucky fam and heading out to the LA for the New Year. A girl on a mission (#workhardplayhard ), balancing a full time job and two degree tracks while maintaining a decent look is the struggle OF THE CENTURY but I’ve been trying out some new beauty hacks to make things more doable. (Check out my Holiday Beauty 101 post for more info)
First up: Lash Extensions.
As a virgin to anything semi permanent on my face I was def skeptical. I mean they were going to be touching my eyeballs for an hour, I feel valid to fear. That’s why I did my homework and found founder and lash extraordinar Amber Fair at Skye Lash Lounge in my hometown of Louisville, KY.
The Woman:
Amber had spent years in the business learning the tricks of the trade from all over the world. Her growing cult following has pushed her to open a new location in the heart of boutique retail district Frankfort Ave.
The Salon:
Skye Lash Lounge is a unique salon focused on offering high end lash extensions. They also offer makeup services and airbrush tanning but the clear winner here is their lash services. Walking in you are greeted by a lux glitter floor and friendly faces all around. A complimentary drink and a seat in her lush couches gets your prepared for a thorough consultation so not only can they ensure you get EXACTLY what you want but you can keep your lashes perfect for weeks to come.
The Service:
Laying atop a suspended bed, I snuggled under some comfy blankets and essentially went to sleep. With soft music playing and the application painless and nearly undetectable I relaxed more than I have in quite a while. Unable to open my eyes to look at my all-too-attached phone let me slip into a serene place. When I awoke I (pardon my pun) couldn’t believe my eyes. I asked for a natural look, undetectable as extensions, very much the “I woke up like this” vibe. Boy did they deliver. My long term boyfriend honestly didn’t know they weren’t mine.
Happy as a clam they sent me home with ample care instructions and my own complimentary goodie bag of care products.
The Verdict:
I will definitely be back. This service lasts between 2-5 weeks depending on your natural lash cycle and care of lashes. Not only do they look natural but GORGEOUS. I legit don’t have to curl or put mascara on my lashes to look glam.
